We have always been appreciated for our lampshades by friends and regular clients. But during the Al Aali Art Fest we were surprised to see that many people liked our idea of recycled lampshades.

Upcycling Art.

I have been reading a lot about the art of recycling and trying to do my share. Thats where the idea of making something new from what was available as useless came up.
I realised that there are many ways to learn and web or internet definitely is a great source to learn.
Few months back I came across the word 'UPCYCLING' and I found myself close to the concept. It seems there is a difference between recycling and upcycling.  So if I am able to convert the throwable things around into a beautiful art piece or a usable product by adding some accessories to it is termed as Upcycling. While recycling might actually mean converting the waste into a completely different product with the use of machines which needs energy.  So in turn to recycle one product we create waste through other source.  Which does not happen in upcycling. 
The concept is very interesting. 
However The Green Scene has been and will be  part of the journey whether its recycling or upcycling.  Art is always close to our Heart.  :-)

Makar Sankranti is very  close. The festival of kites and tilgud. These elegant trays are perfect as a centrepiece. 

Beautiful gift

Bangle box can be a wonderful gift on any occasion.  We tried to recycle old cardboard boxes into beautiful bangle boxes.  To our surprise they look amazing.  Yes....the plan is to sell them.

Tins and cans

Tins and cans all around, I knew something can be made from them. But what????? As usual my eyes started searching for something.  I found rope pretty compatible with the plastic cans. Tins have their fixed shape, still we can make them look beautiful.  

Keepsake containers was a wonderful idea. Few things I made for sale.  

Festival time

Diwali the festival of Light and Christmas the perfect time for plum cakes, rum cakes and yummy chocolates. Be it any festival the Vibes are - always positive. 2013 Diwali motivated me to make something for my clients. And I am so happy they all loved what I made.

Christmas was equally interesting. Centrepieces was on my mind. I started looking for things around some bottles of wine, Vodka and rum were enough for that spark and here are few things I came up with. All were loved and bought by my clients.

LAMPSHADES

Lampshades have always been my passion. To create lampshades which are unique and beautiful is my genuine try. I have also created lampshades for some of my clients according to the decor of their home. Of course some Lampshades are partly recycled. Some of my creations are shown in the pictures below.
